A living donor transplant procedure consists of taking half a healthy liver from a donor to replace a cancerous liver. That portion of the donor’s liver (as well as the remaining liver within the donor) will regenerate in 4-8 weeks, and the new liver will grow in both the donor and recipient to full size as well within a year…which is simply amazing!
