Aloha, I am Kiana Hauhio. I recently received a devastating diagnosis that I have colon cancer that has metastasized to my liver. My doctors at University of Rochester at Strong Memorial Hospital tell me my best option is to receive a living donor transplant. There is no medical cost to the donor. I know this is a lot to ask, but I want to live, I believe the Lord is not done with me here on earth and I want to be here for my family. If you want to or can help, I would be forever grateful…
Donor criteria:
- Blood type is A+, A-, O+, or O-
- Be physically fit and in good general health
- Be older than 18 years of age and younger than 60
- Have a healthy body weight: (BMI no more than 35, but will need to be 30 at time of donation)
- Have no significant medical or psychiatric problems
- Test negative for active chronic hepatitis B and C and can have no serious medical conditions such as diabetes, cancer, or heart disease
- You may be asked for some additional pre-screening questions before a full evaluation if you are between 55-60 years old or have a BMI between 30-35.
